The people did vote it and now only ten days more of the reform Democratic legislature remains, and the committee on railways have not reported a bill. Repeal every charter confering upon individuals the exercise of public functions, such as banking, railroads and street railways, gas and electric light companies and companies organized to furnish water for cities. All these are public functions and should and must be exercised by the people themselves so as to have service at cost, and thereby avoid this enormous expense known as profits.
