Frora the Indiana Journal. The Surveyor appointed under the act cf Congress to define the northern boundary of of Indiana, lias, it is understood performed rhal duty. The line is said to be 10 or 15 miles further north, than had been expected, including about 25 milea' of a eoutheru bend of 'he St. Joseph of the Lake within Indiana; the most soothe: ly bend of tht river is from 6 t S miles south of the line. The ten miles purst base made at the treaty includes some first rate land both prairie and timbered, and on the south bank of the St. Joseph at tho residence of Mr,. Alexander Coquillard, is one of the most beautiful town tfites on the river, about 35 miles from the lake, and from 5 to 10 miles from tho point where the north line of this state crosses the river. There is about 6 feet water over the bar, and the harbor within the mouth of this river, which is one of the best on lake Michigan, and batt aux can azcend the riv er to the mouth of Elkhort, a large branch entering from the south in Indiaua, 15

The Michigan Road A great degre . interest appears to be felt by the citicei Indiana, on the subject of the locatio the contemplated road from lake Michi to the Ohio river. One party is ans; that it should strike the Ohio above, below, and one at this place. At pre it is impossible to say which of these ; tie will prevail. It is believed, hovre that it may be advantageous to the stnt the Legislature should not decide uj . anv particular route at the next session. If application should be rrade to Con
