itriot and i have in company about one hundred and
'ive men, and fifty three waggons and pleasure carriages. Our line of march is at least one mile in length, and is said to be
extremely beautiful to the eye of a spectator, and certainly must be formidable in the estimation of Indians. The company is the largest which has traversed this route, are in fine spirits, and do not entertain a doubt of going through in perfect safety. We have adopted our form of government, and elected officers to carry it into eiiect and operation. The following is a list of the officers which have been appointed. We have elected the Rev. John Pearson, Chaplain, who is a gentleman of agreeable manners, and of very handsome scientific and theological attainments Captain -- Ezekiel Williams, Aids -- Persely Samuel, James Glenn. Clerk -- James L. Collins.
Man lud R i c h a r d G e n t r y . Pilot Joseph Reynolds. Court Joshua Fletcher, John Dade Sz James Ramsay. Commanders of Guards E. Williams, P Samuel, J. Glenn, S. Turley, J. Rennison, R. Stowers, L. Morrison, A. Barnes, and I) Workman. Although a pretty genenal. apprehension seems to have prevailed that the pres-
J ent company will be in danger, yet our
number and discipline will ensure our safety. Our government is almost as complete and perfect as though we composed a lull republican government; yet we can never forget the blessing of our own institution; and 1 have no doubt the longer wc are absent the more forcibly this idea will occur to us. If fighting should be necessary, it will be as much a matter of pride and ambition to sustain the glory of our arms and the honor of our country, as to protect our own interests and rights.

D OJV' T KILL YO UR BEES. The cruel system of smothering bees may now be totally dispensed with, by a plan recently adopted with complete success; it is called "driving," and is easily accomplished: thus At duck, place a metal pot near where the old hive stands; have a new hive prepared with cross sticks, and cream and sugar smeared inside; inrert the old hive into the pot and quickly place the new one over it, tic a cloth round the meeting of both hives, so as to prevent any of the bees escaping; then keep striking the bottom of the metal pot, with an instrument, and in less than ten minutes all the bees w ill be driven by the sound from the old to the new hive: then untie the cloth and lift the nev hive to the place where the old one etood, at the same time quickly covering the honey hive with a white cloth to prevent any of the bees returning to it. In the morning lift a corner of the cloth, so as to c:a!:c a small aparture to Jet out any of tho bees that should remain, and by striking t!: pot as before, they will in:t,:ntly ccpart and join their companions in the r.er settlement. It may be ncee: ::ry to fee J the bee9 well for a for days vith tuar, crd they will proceed to rorfc irr.-ditciy cf-ter.
