WOLCOTT WATER SUPPLY CRITICAL The Wolcott water system is faced with a complete fail ure because of unusual dry conditions, lack of early sprihg wafer and extreme hot weather. The Town Board wishes to inform the public of the true nature of the situation as it now exists.' .... (1) Early spring rains replenshied the pit to the exstent of approximately six inches from the low point reached during the winter. (2) The Town is using from 92,000 to 110,000 gallons per day. Last Friday the daily average jumped 30,000 gal. in 24 hours and we lost 2 inches of water at the pit. All statistics that we are able to obtain show that Wolcott should pump an average of 60,000 to 75,000 gal. per day for a town of 920 people. (5) We have authorized Clyde Williams and Associates, engineers, to appear be fore the Public Service Com mission at Indianapolis to expedite the installation 6f water meters, plant improve ments, and the development of a well field. Contract bids will be let in this work with in two to three weeks. (6) If negotiations break down in regards to a pit lease renewal, the public will be called upon to give the Board their desires in referendum vote within the next three weeks. THEREFORE; The Town Board declares an extreme emergency now exists within this city limits of Wolcott, and thereby immediately are placing the following water regulations into effect: (1) The citizens of Wolcott will immediately discontinue the watering of lawns, gardens, shrubs, etc. (2) Discontinue all automobile washing. (3) Citizens who have
