FROM THE WOLCOTT PRINCIPAL'S DESK Roy and Bertha Orugel were gracious hosts at a banquet at Ureen Gables, honoring the basketball team, yell leaders, coaches and principal last Thursday night. The occasion was brightened by the memory of the great team effort which put highly-favored Monticello Twin Lakes on the tourney sidelines. Many favorable comments upon the manner in which the Wolcott team finished the season. have come from many fans, school officials, and students. We even received a box of Twinkles through the mail from two unknown Brookston fans with this message: "Saturday afternoon we found that a 'Wildcat's' favorite dish is a Twinkle." We doubt if the Monticello team likes that nickname but it was coined by a Monticello newspaper. Bob Kordyke gave about n hundred new megaphones to the yell block. 'for the game. This amplified an alreadyspirited yell block. . Don't overlook Coach Jetyy Petty when handing out praise, for he deserves a great deal of the credit for instilling the needed confidence and extraordinary teamwork that enabled the team to win. I L i 1 nn whit rmu Mnti hat light and dark events, thosa me newspaper which headlined the joyous Wolcott upset of Twin Lakes recorded, too, that one of Wolcott'g former students, Bill Pender, had been tragically killed in an auto accident, and the Arts-Way Manufacturing Company, which has been a great boon to the Wolcott community, was razed by Are. We sadly acknowledge that such events are also a part of the pattern of human events. D. T. 8. "',. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bressie have moved into the nank We8terhous property on Johnson street.
