FROM THE WOLCOTT PRINCIPAL'S DESK The school hag received some recent gifts which we would like to acknowledge. Last week the White County Co-Op presented the school with George Scarseth's book Man and Hit Earth. Many farmers in this area are familiar with Mr. Scarseth's pioneer work with continuous corn and other soil research. Just two days before Mr. Scarseth's death he expressed these thoughts I've come to realize my life is in God's hands and from here on out I must be doing His work. With me, that is with the land and the people on it. The climax of my life's work is in my new book, Man and Ei$ Earth, and I hope it helps
a lot of people. Wre remember the author's daughter, Mary, as one of our favorite students at West Lafayette Junior High School in 1942. We are grateful to the Co-Op for this fine gift. The Wlolcott P. T. 0. recently gave a three volume set of the College Blue Book to our high school guidance library. This gives our students the most comprehensive and definitive data about colleges and schools which are available. The P. T. O. also gave the grade school a set of school scales with measuring rods. The grades are making very busy use of it especially around grading time. Perhaps it's coincidence that we've noticed lately that several women teachers pass up
the regular cafeteria fare and sit nibbling carrots. D. T. S.

PODHllIflBSE on the bench A football team is only as good as its reserve strength. An abundance of "power in a pinch" is what makes an unbeatable team. The same is true of your electric service. Indiana's five InvestorOwned Electric Companies have enough generating capacity to supply all present needs and still have plenty of power "on the bench." 1-12 MILLION KILOWATTS OF RESERVE POWER In the last 10 years Indiana's electric power requirements have doubled and Indiana is still on the grow. The five Investor-Owned Electric companies' 1962-64 budget of $292,000,000 for construction of additional electric facilities is your assurance of dependable reserve of low cost electric power, both now and in the future.
