Mrs. Anna Hood (colored) celebrated her one hundredth birthday on Sunday with a big dinner to a number of relatives and friends. The Vernon basket ball, team attended the tournament at Columbus Friday and Saturday and came home feeling mighty proud of the honors carried off by them.
Hugh Carney, who has been seriously ill of the flu, is again able to come to town with that smile that never wears off.
James Foster has returned from .Illinois.
