Pursuant to previous notice the citizens of I'acii and vicinity met at the court house Saturday evening-, January ISth, at 7 o'clock, for the purpose of consulting as to the feasibility and plan of building a turnpike from Paoli to Orleans, and aKo to appoint a committee to confer with a committee previously appointed at- Orleans. On mouon, Henry Cominexre was chosen chairman of the meeting and Wm. A. Bell Secretary. A general discussion of the subject then followed, participated in by John C. Albert, Thomas Hunt, A. J. Rhodes, Thomas II. Braxtan, John 11. Simpson, Tliornas B. Dunkirk and others. Ail expressed themselves in favor of the road, hut as to the manner or plan of building it, there seemed to bo a diversity of opinion. Some favored a joint stock company, while others favored budding the mad under the act providing fur the building of turnpikes, gravel ro.ids, &c. However, as that was to be left to the committee, on motion of T. B. Buskirk, the following committee was appointed to confer with the Orleans commit too for that purpose: John C. Albert, Chairman; Tims. B. Buskirk, Thomas X. Bravtan, John II. Braxtan. John Hude!on, James M. Andrew, John 11. Simj -son, Thoma-t Hunt, A. J. Rhodes', Li. S. Bowles, Hiram IL Welh, Solomon Seott, John B. Meenity, John Stcut, Thomas L. Brown, Josepdi Cox and William II. Martin. On motion, the chairman of the committee was instructed to correspond with the chairman of Orleans committee as to time and place of meeting.
