List of letters remaining in the ode at Orleans, Ind., for the month ending December 81, 1877: Mrs. ' Elizabeth Had a, J. S. Holmes, Mrs. Ilartgrave, David N. Lewis, Jas. Mar, Charles T. Panel. H. A. Smart, P. if. In oar issue of last. week we stated that wild turkeys were not included in' the provisions of the game law, and that it was not unlawful to kill them at any time. Upon a fur; her examination of the law. books, however, we find that by au act passed in 1857 it is unlawful to ki'l them between the first day of March and the first day of September, in each year. They are not included in tho provisions of the Rctof 1S77, which repeals all laws, or parls of laws, in conflict with its provisions, but the section of the act of 1857, making it unlawful to kill them within the periods above stated, not being inconsistent with any of the provi eions of the. act of 1S77, it not repealed, but is stili in force. The penalty for killing them between March 1st and September 1st, is three dollars. Last Friday - was the day set fothe viewers to meet, qualify and proceed to view the road, petitioned for in Stamperscreek township, known as the Wolf-Ti inkle road, but they failed to do so. This makes the third set of viewer appointed on that road, and ail have hiile 1 to perform the duties assigned them. There ii. no law to eoinp'd, psrsons lo accept such appointments, and where they have to go long distances, to perform such ssrvices, the pay aiiowed them, $150 per day, is not sufficient to Induce them to do so. Ju this case, as in nil others, the Bord of Commissioners should, in th future, appoint only such persons as they know can, and will, accept. This road has already cost the county in the neighborhood of C50. and nothing yet done. The 'installation of tbe officers elect Jor the ensuing term of Re liance Lodge, No. 1C. I. O. O.
