Upon returning home from a call on a lady friend Sunday night Warren Fester discovered two men prowling around his mother's residence in the psathwest orner of the square.. Hastening to his room ho procured a revolver with which he opened on the rascals. They stood not upon the order of their going but went at ones, and ilia net known whether the shots took effect or not. It is to be hoped they did. We want to retain all our old subscribeis and get as many new ones as possible." Every citizen of our town should at once thoroughly cleanse his premises and keep them so. If the citizens will not voluntarily do it our "town dads" ought to exercise the powers given them by law and compel it to be done, and that quickly too. Geo. Wright, Esq., of Indianapolis, representing the wholesale drug house of Stewart A Barry, was in town last week. Geo. is one of the cleverest salesmen that travels and our merchants cannot do better than entrust their orders to him. Will the editor of the Republican tell his readers how many papers he sends to French Lick post office.
