Tho church was completely filled, and notwithstanding the extreme warm weather the most respectful attention was given throughout tho entire evening. The - audience expressed their appreciation of the performances by fraquently applabdins tho 'different scenes. Considering tho great labor and expense necessary in getting up an entertainment of, this kind Mrs. King deserves much credit for her enterprise, and should receive the patronage . and . encouragement cf every one. Master John F. Simpson, son of our. worthy Clerk, had a-birthday party last Wednesday evening, on tho occasion of his eleventh birthday, to which he invited ali his little friends.
