Dispatches from all sections of the country continue to come in to tin Democratic members of Congross, urging resistance in every form to defeat - the fraudulent counting in of flay-s. This an only bo done now by filibustering and dilatory methods in the House. Those w.ho oppose such a resert denwud of then opponents what they propose to do in case the Senate shall proceed to complete the count and declare Hayes elected. If the President adheres to this plan he will turn over the Government to Hayes, but some assert that he is not anxious for such a consummation, and that he would prefer to have the Senate choose a President pro tempore who would be entitled to administer the executive flice tiuring the interregnum. His choica would naturally ba Mr. Conkiing, in whosa friendship he has more confidence than in Sherman, Morton or Edmunds. The Republicans appear to be afraid to proceed to elect the President of the Senate pro tempore, possibly because of rivalries for the position, and posihly because whoever he chosen will then have an in. terest opposed to the declaration that Hayes has ben chosen.' It is ninong the -possibilities that Mr". Ctmkling may be elected by a combination of his friends with the Democrats, and such n event would change the whole aspect of affairs.
