The Cholera has' again appeared in England, and several cases ' liave occurred in Manchester and other parts of the country. New Locomotive. An exceedingly handsome and interesting new locomotive has just been built by Messrs. J. Sc E. Headly, of Cambridge. It is intended for the use of several of the officers engaged upon the line, but the very small and ec onomic style upon which it is constructed is attrading much attention, and will unquestionably lead to its more general use. The engine and tender (which will convey four persons) are in one carriage, and only nine feet long, with two 5-inch cylinders upon two pair of wheels, and the whole weight, when in working trim, does not exceed three tons and a quarter, the avera wei"ht of an engine and tender being at least thirty tons. The driving wheels are four feet six inches in diameter; and, in a trial trip on Monday week, she ran with great steadiness at the rate of forty miles an hour. It is conjectured that she can accomplish sixty miles an hour with eas, as the tendency to o.-ciilate would be much reduced in conseouence of being so very low. The consumption of coke j 1 is only four pounds per mile. A large woman is a blessing to the Dry-Goods dealers, as it takes much cloth to cover her.
