That WiLiam C Bramwell.tho city surveyor, be, and be is hereby directed, to proceed, without unnecessary delay, under the direction of the committee on street! and wharves, to locate the corner of lot No. 124, formed by the intersection of Mulberry and High sts, on the origtn.l plat of the town of Madison. Sic 2 That the said William C. Bramwell proceed in like manner, to locate the corner of lot No. 121, formed by the intersection of Main and High streets, on the original plat of said town of Madison. Sk ii. That if any person shall wilfully or mai clously deface, destroy, or pull down, or otherwise damage or injure any sign or sign-board, awning, or other property

AN ORDINANCE To amend an ordinance, entitled "An Ordinance relating to the markets," passed January, 25. 18J9. Skc. 1. Be it ordained by the Common Council of the city of Madison , That the 10th lection of the Ordinance to which this is an amendment, be, and the same Is hereby amended, so that the minimum price of all stalls inside of the Main street market house shall be fixed at ten dollars per year, and that the minimum price of all stalls infide of the Broadway market-house shall be fixed at eight dollars per year. Be it enacted by the Common Council of the City of Madison, That any person who shall permit any dog or bitch, owred or harbered by him, to be in any market house or on any market-space in the city of Madison, during market hours, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall, for the first offence, be fined lnthe sum of one dollar; and, for every subsequent offence three dellais, together with costs of prosecution In ail eases. And the fact that such dog or btteh is In any markethouse or on any market-space, as aforesaid, shall, in the absence of any proof to the contrary, be deemed and taken as conclusive evidence that the said dog or bitch was there by the permission of the owner or person who harbors the same about his or her house: provided, tbat butchers and others selling from stalls in any markethouse, or persons selling from wagons or other vehicles on any market space, may keep a watch-dog. chained, or otherwise securely tastened to the sta'l, wagon, or other vehicle, he. she. or they are selling from.
