There is a sink of iniquity which has for sometime been poisoning the moral atmosphere of Danville, and if some - ,. . . . , , thing is not done we sunn-moral death, Nor does the trouble stop with morals Danville, in this regard, lias been the pride of its inhabitants, but since the sink referred to has been open, no town ever deteriorated faster. At the same rate ( ere lonsr it would become the bv-word of j the State. With this deterioration it loses its bestinvitation to immigration and enterprise. It has already greatly helpj ed to depreciate the value of property. Danville should not encourage what will drive away people who seek for a good moral community iu which to educate their families. The certain finding of good schools and good society with vice and its advocates surely kept clown would bring here a hundred families, of more or less wealth, within two years. On the other hand if the town sends out a weekly advertisement that only whisky loafers, blacklegs and jail-birds arc wanted arid respected here, our town Avill be shunned by prr. dent people. The Indi nnon is just such ..noilrf.i-tispm.Mit i'lip optter wliich , , . . editor is as fitted for a po.-ition of that name as a monkey is to paint landscapes, is a poor recommend for the intelligence of the town.
