For Ike Botcher Knife. The Hail Rosd. . We are informed that Peter S. Kennedy, Esq., Prosecuting Attorney of the fifth Judicial Circuit of this State, has tiled an information in the nature of a quo warranto, against the Indiana and Illinois Central Railway Company, in the Marion Circuit Court, requiring the company to appear in said court and show by what authority they use and exercise the franchise of a corporation. I am glad to Eee this proceeding commenced by the Pre;: cuter, asd hope lie will prosecute the c. ; j f 3 a nal termination ; and that mile r.can lime the directors and agents of tho company may be compelled to show their hands and the authority by which they have acted in the premises. It is a suit of vast importance not only to the stockholders of the road, but cue cf great interest to a large number cf the inhabitants of Indiana and Illinois. The ter

But if the suit should be determined in favor of the road, would the stockholders be benefitted thereby? Qucre has not

the whole concern gone to the dogs at best by this infamous swamp land swindle? If the road is made by the present company (which, bye-the-bye, I look upon as improbable) will the stock ever rise above red or blue dot in value ? If so, the cash stockholders will barely hold their own, while the swamp-land rascals will become money kings. It the road is not made by the present company, the cash stockholders will cnly loese the amount of money they have paid, while the swamp scoundrel will be left in possession cf his water, mud and frogs all upon aa equal-, ity in a pecuniary point cf view naught from naught and nothing remains but a
