clay, says that Mr. -Kennedy, tho Proseeating Attorney of this circuit, has filed an information against the Indiana and Illinois Central Railway Company, the ob
ject of which is to annul.tbe organization of the company; leaving it as though it had never existed. This makes tho pro. cceding one of immense importance to the company and all who have had dealings with them . It is difficult to see what results may follow the successful termination of this suit an event of which some of those who have examined the question
epek with great confidence. Among the grounds ulledged for its dissolution are
these; It was formed without any authority of law; it was not organized in conformity with existing laws for the organization of Railroad companies.

solicited. The list cf premiums i: 1 :;,c and will repay tho farmer and ucskrrJs to take extra pains with their art!:!:3 for inspection. Hendricks county not ranks as the fourth county in the Gtate in reference to Fairs. Old Wayne and some others take the lead. But if as much interest is taken in our fair as is taken in some other counties, we can soon rank along
side of "Wayne. Let every farmer who
has anything worthy of inspection take it to the fair, and if he does not get a premium,, he can compare with those that do and know how far behind he stands.

County OClccrs Supreme Court. The Indianapolis Sentinel of the 13th inst., says that a report has gone abroad that the Supreme Court would in a short time, decide in favor of the constitutionality of the law fixing a uniform commencement of the terms cf certain county cilices. The rumor is unfounded. The Supreme Court have not, as yet, arrived at any conclusion in the matter, and no action will be had upon it previous to the regular term of the Court in November next. This settles the question so far as the election of county officers this tall is concerned, whose term of ofHce have not a uniform commencement.

Hore Stealing. A couple of young men, travelling west went to the house of a man living in Morgan county and borrowed a kettle for some purpose, having camped a few hundred yards, distant. Next morning when they got ready to leave, they forget to return the kettle, but put it in their wagon and carried it away. They were followed; overhauled a few miles north of this place, and the property demanded of them, but they denied having it, and on finding that their wagon would be searched, the kettle was produced. They were brought back to town, and a trial was had before Esq. Singer. They were held to bail in the sum of fifty dollars each. The bail was given, and they went on their way. Verily this is a great country for theives. John W. Thornton is our authorized agent at Anderson, Ind.
