The last census will place the center of population in the vicinity of Bloomington, Ind. In 1890 the center was in Decatur county, near Greensburg. It travels very slowly about six miles a year. The ladies of the Presbyterian church will sell bread, cakesi chickens, salads, ice cream and sherbet through the month of August. Orders taken at Mrs. Hammond's store, and should be given one day in advance.

At first the girls refusnd to return home with their father, but upon being informed that they would be placed under ' arrest and sent to jail, finally made up their minds to go with their parents.—Mt. Sumner left Monday for Lawrenceville, Illinois, where he is investigating the county records. Henry Johnson and family moved to Oakland9 City last Friday, where they will reside in the future. Joseph Radcliff, charged with petit larceny, was up before Squire Sermersheim, yesterday morning, when he took a change of venue to E. C. Johnson at Huntingburg and the case was set for 8 o'clock ne^t Tuesday morning. His bond was placed at $200, and the defendant was allowed to go to Pike county yesterday afternoon in charge of the town marshal to secure bond.—Jasper Herald.
