gft VFRANK’S GREATCLOSINGOUTSALE ww>v<wi?1 Thirty days have passed since we commenced our Closing Out Sale, and during that time we have sold lots of goods, but still we have a bigger stock left than any of the other merchants, as we always carried the best and biggest stock in town. In these 30 days we have sold more Clothing than the Glance of the houses together; more than any house in the same length of time in the history of Petersburg, and it left our stock in such a shape that we have in some lots no two Suits alike, but we can fit you in size and price. The most we now have in stock are sizes 34 and 35, and if you are lucky enough to get a fit out of them you will be strictly in it, as the price we ask you wont hardly pay for the making of it. The sooner you come in topjtok your new Suit the better assortment you will have as the next 30 days will be our banner month, especially in Cloth* ing, and you should take advantage of this. Never before have you had the chance to buy Clothing at prices , » I 0 '■ ’ ■. '.r _ ; /■ ' 4 . which we are now making. Lots of odd Suits are marked way below cost in order to sell them 1. >. .< - With your new Suit you will need a new Pair of Shoes. Tfcc Treasurer Enjoined. GnstoffFrank brought Suit in the circuit court to enjoin the county treasurer from collecting tax on aomething over 118000 illegally assessed against him by the board of review and county auditor. The trial earn# up for hearing last week and on Saturday Judge Ely granted the induction. Mr. Frank’s total tax for the year was fixed at ja little over $1,- , 120.50, and by the injunction his tax wu reduced I41-.59. Other suits will probably follow this owing to the time of making the assessments had expired. Josiah S. Newkirk for the benefit of the taxpayers of Petersburg also, brought suit to enjoin the county treasurer and town treasurer from collecting 13 cents on the $100 for school bond purposes. This case also come up in the circuit courtlast week and was decided in favor of the taxpayers. * And the end is not yet. It looks like things are considerably mixed up at the present time. This last decision will save tax-payers $1.30 on every $1,000 of their assessment. The county officers will now be obliged to run over the tax duplicates and make the necessary changes. £ Madison township Teachers.
