Mr. Johu Mason to Miss Emma Fleoner; Charles Parks to Miss Lucas Beatty, and David Mason to Miss Lula Reed. All being ot our best young people, and their many jfriends join in wishiug them a pleas- " ant journey through lifo. Our towu was somewhat excited on last Monday to learn that Shepard & Lortou had dissolved partnership by mutual consent. They have been in business here for twenty-one years. Their friends will find J. A. Shepard still behind the counters, where he has spent over twenty-oue years aud takes this method of publicly thaukiug them for past favors. Mr. Lortou will retire.

Doyle were arrested at Washington last Saturday and brought here charged with burglarizig the store of J. D Levi at Union. They were given a trial yesterday before Squire Thurman.
• The teachers institute this week is the most successful ever held in the county, and reflects great credit on Superintendent Blaize. The instructors are among the best ever here during Institute week. The enrollment is something over 150. Mrs. Capt. John J. Sinzich and daughter Miss Cora of Evansville, are the guest of Hon. A. H. and Mrs Taylor this week. Miss Sinzich for |>me years past has been engaged iu teachins vocal and instrumental music in the Fayette, Mo., college. ■ The Democrat office has been crowded ‘ with work this week necessitating the employment of two extra pi inters. Bring in your work this office is equal to the occasion at all times and unjer all circumstances A concrete sidewalk is being put down on the west side of Main street tatween Sixth and Seventh streets. The work is being done well aud will add greatly to the appearance of the business properties. A soldiers reunion will be held at BWor* next week beginning on Tuesday. The E. & I. railroad will sell tickets at one fare for the round triii. The Fox handle works is doing a splendid business and has shipped out several large orders during the past tew weeks. Ii R.
