Expenses are k here than at other places, • npare them. Many of our best > . dents are here at an expense of h-s*» than $20 a term (ten weeks). This includes board, tuition, books, room rent, light, fuel. We have not a single student at a necessary school expense of more than $35. Most of them board in private families at a cost of $2.25 to *2. 50 per week. The friends of the college have fixed the maximum limit at #2.50 thus insuring its cheapness and at the same time throwing their homes open to make it the most desirable. • / MERIT. We visited one of our young men last spring in the interest of the college. He had received a catalogue and the terms of the school but had decided to go to another school. We asked him why he was going there. “Because,” said he, “it is one of the largest and best schools anywhere. ” I We showed him that it would cost I him less to go to the Oakland City [.College. “Yes,** said he, “I’m pretty sure of that.” Then we made him this proposition: “If you don’t find the instruction at' the Oakland City College just as good as it is at the school where you are thinking of going; it shall not cost you one cent” He came and was well pleased. Now we can't come to each one of you and make this proposition, but we do make the same proposition to you and in the same good faith. Teachers' review and training

• “Perhaps you would not think so. but a very large proportion of diseases in New York, comes from carelessness about catching cold/' says Dr. Ed son. “It is such a simple thing and so common that very few people, unless it is a 'issue of pneumonia, pay any attention to a cold. New York is one of the healthiest places on the Atlantic coast atm yet there are a great many cases of catarrh and consumption which have their origin in inis neglect of the simple precaution of every day life. The most sensible advice is, when you have one get rid of it as soon as possible. By all means do not degleet it ” Dr. Edaon does not tell how to cure a cold but we will.
