White at Evansville on last Monday, we heard much talk of the routing re-union of the Blue aud the Gray,' to be held at that place. The hu*inc»s men of the city also had much to say of the fair to be held at this place uext week. “You at way# have a good Fair,” was the comiuou expression of alt. We hope that this year will be no exception, , aud that the fair will be the best ever held. Let every one lu Pike county pul forth au effort. We want nothing but plain truth reported to the Democrat. Not long since a communication to this pa|*er stated that a lady aud gentleman had gone visiting together, leaving the itupressiou to anyone not acquainted with the facts that the persons mentioned were friends. Upon inquiry we find that the persons mentioned are more nearly enemies lhau friends, and that thearticle to wltich wo refer could have had no other lencllouov than that of se.indsluting. Such comuinnicattoiiK damages a paper financially, and weakens its reliability. A real friend to the Democrat would not make such a re|>ori. and we trust uoue will do so in the future.
