Bailroad Curing. An engineer corps has been at work surveying the line of tbe Vincennes k New Albany Ilailrosd. The corps has left for Vincennes tobegiu establishing the grade, preparatory to begining work on the new road. This road will be built iu the near future. It cannot be done too soon to suit the people ot this community. If tlia road can be iu operation for shipment ofthepreaent growing crops, it will be of great advantage to oar tknaing coiuiuunnities. Chesser aud others will officiate. Willie Smith, a boy about fourteen years old, son of L. W. Suiilh, who resides two sod-one half miles southwest of Petersburg, accidentally shot himself on last Saturday, while attempting to take a sbot-gun from the rack. The shot entered the fore-arm uear the wrist, and passing parallel with the bone, made its exit near the elbow. Dr. Adams dressed the Wound, and thinks it will not be a serious one. Joseph D. Laughlin, prosecuting attorney for the circuit composed of 1 Juries# aud Martin counties was arrested last Friday a week ago by Deputy United States Marshal Francis A. Ward. The marshal had two war-, rants for him, one of which charged him with a ?i latiou of the postal laws, aud the other with having signet! without authorty a voucher intended for a man for whom he had secured a pension, aud who Is now living in Kansas.
