All That it Lacking:. We occasionally receive wdl edited Journals devoted to the developcmeut of the industries of the South. It is with pleasure that we note the wonderful change of the last twenty years. The South is becoming a powerful agricultural and manufacturing district. We predict thal; emigration will hence forth be to tlte ioutlnvard to the debtriment of the "Mighty West.” It is very difficult to comprehend the magnitude of the greatness of our domain. The United States is truiev a great and good country. Purity of the ballot-box iind good, honest, loyal men at the: head of the government is all that hi yiit lacking. May the people rise up to make this demand with unfailing energy!
