She was buried in the cemetery at this place on Monday. Mrs. Catt leaves a husband, family and many friends to follow her Into the land of souls. She wan a kind, affectionate wife and mother, and her death falls with crushing weight npoa those to whom she was near and dear. _ / k The "gospel meeting” held under the auspices of the Young Men’s Christian Association, in the Presbyterian church on last 8unday afternoon, and led by Thomas Smith, was a flattering success. The young men who assisted in the the opening exercises added materially to the internets of the meeting. The friends of the association' were out in large numbers, which hed an encouraging effect upon the organisation. ^ Jasper Etonian, who lives ntout fi re miles south of thin place, met with the sad misfortune, on lest Thursday, of losing his wife. Mrs.Kinman had long been a sufferer rrom than most Insidlons of diseases—Consompllon— and when the messenger esme for her she was prepared to journey into the land of tha unknown and nuknowable. A large eirele of friends snd relatives join with the sorrowing husband and family in mourning the loss of a good woman and sealous friend.r

Road Supt.—Ed, Holton. Justice of the Peace—J. H. McConnell. Constables—Newton Jones, Willis Spillman. They also selected a township Central Committee composed .of thejollowing named gentlemen: A. M. Carter. F. H. Curtis, V. Beets, Kd. Holton, W. C, Wiggs, Wash Ashby, Arthur Thompson, Sr., Geo. Shepherd, H. J. Wiggs, Bolin Utrey and Gabriel Adkenson. The convention was large, harmonious aud enthusiastic, and the ticket nominated will be elected. The meeting was largely attended by representative Democrats from all over the county, and the outlook for success, judging from the expressions of those taking part in the caikeus, is most encouraging. Up to this time the following per sons have met the red eyed law, in the person of the Circuit Conrt, and have become its victims: Elijah Ilea cock ou a charge of burglary got three years in the Penitentiary, ilia partner in criime, Frank beadles, settled his score at the Captain’s desk by accepting a like sentence. Wim. Grigg couvicied of petit larceny accepted a fine of $1, and took np a twenty day’s sojourn iu the county jail. Jas. ii. Crooks who carried a concealed weap on, “contrary to the statutes in such cases made and provided,” refused to pay his fine of|2, and now languishes in jail in consequence. Albert Fetlinger, was tried tor gtand larceny on Inal Tuesday, convicted of tho same, and sen teheed lor a two years term at Jeffersonville Other criminal' cases are daily bein * tried, and the present term of Court will pass into history as a prolific one in the way of ooutributiona to the Penitentiary.
