It should be kept at baud iu every household lor the protection it affords in sudden attacks. Iu Whooping-cough and Consumption there is no other remedy so efficacious, soothing, and helpful. Low prices are inducements to try some of the many mixtures, or syrups, made of cheap and ineffective ingredients, now offered, which, as iliey contain no curative qualities, can afford only temporary relief, and are sure to deceive and disappoint the patient. Diseases of the throat and lungs demand active ami effective treatment; and it is dangerous experimenting with unknown and cheap medicines, from the great liability that these diseases may, while so trifled with, become deeply seated or ineurabie. ,. TTse Ayer’s Cherry Pectoral, and yon may conBdeutly expect the best results'. 1880 the 1880 Indiana Weekly Stale Sentinel. IMPROVED AND ENLARGED *1.00 rsa. fHB PAPER FOR TUB PEOPLE. msPECTrs roK ts«o. the coming presidential year premise* to be the most eventful and thrilling is a politic*1 . tense that we hnve ever wicueswd, and will determine questions of the most vital importance to every citixen of the State and Nation. It i* not improbable—indeed it in almost certain—that upon the determination of them questions, wil t depend the perpetuity of onr present system tree government. These questions will be thoroughly th-emwed during the present session of Congress. The Sentinel has arranged lor a first-class experienced, special correspondent at Washington and in addition to giving a true account of ail the general proceedings in that body will give leading speeches of our most 'prominent the statesmen, and without depriving our patrons of the usual amount of reading matter. The Sentinel w ill hereafter contain a supplement, making r ain all Sixty Codtiimuu of composition. ^ le a word, it is the purpose of The dentiurh as „ ,, . purpose of The dentiuri, as a stead.ast watchman ot public intelligence, a do its whole duty iu affording information to its subscribers upon all these topics of such vast moment. As in *78 so in *80 Indiana will be called upon to take a first position in the front of the great contest, and upon Urn success or failure of (ha ” " Stale will great aud gallant Democracy of onr S depend the fate of issues the moot p_ __ ever submitted to the arbitrament of a free j pie. IV e shall also specially call attention, iron day to day, as occasion may require, to an s«. lireiy Ssw Phase in the politics ol our -stats —we mean the forced emigration ior temporary partisan purposes of pauper negroes from Urn South into Indiana. The managers and leaden of the Republican party, in our State and at » asiungton, are now engaged in this nefarious work, and are attempting by every meana in their power to promote its advancement. They have tailed, utterly failed, to convince oar pete pie of the correctness of their political principles, by reason or argument; tneir appeals to hatred amt prejudice have fallen harmless; their lavish and corrupt expenditures of pnbltr and private moneys ha vs proved wholly futile. They propose now by an African invasion of worm than a vandal horde of beggars end mendicants to override the voice of Wfe people of the State, and to drown the Democratic majority. Tha last resort, the forlorn hope, the assaulting party, the picket lessiHag corps of Republicanism m Indians, is thus made up—not from the Hunters, Harrisons, Heilmans or Shackelford* of the State; not from the intelligence or ability fiiul uutee Ran* is m,s.mrnsd __.sl__ mportation are made use of to deatroythe ta»» feated faction. The sleepless Sentinel, upon the heights ot popular rights and popular dignitv. predicts that ibis movement will also be a failure. With respect to this before unheard ot method of manufacturing party majorities in a state.w« shall at all times give tho latest and most reliable intelligence. The American Democracy, the Federal Union, the rights of the Pefiale amt the States, one tutu inseparable—now and forever. The merits ot the Sentinel as a general newspaper &rs so well known among the farmers ot this State, especially those ot the Democratic persuasion, that commendation of it is deemed superfluous. We will add, however, that tha management has arranged and fully determined that no paper shall furnish so great practical value to its patrons for the money. In its news, its editorials, its literary and miscellany—iu a, word, in its general reading it shall not he surpassed by any paper circulated in the State. It will be particularly adapted to the family circle. We do not believe that any reading thinking man in the State ran afford to do without the Weekly Sentinel at the, small cast at which it ia furnished. v
