The new suits for fall are made in semi-Empire and cut-away styles, some being plain tailored while others are bound around the edges with braid. The materials most in demand are serges, cheviots, wool eponges, Scottish tweeds, English suitings, two tone and mottled materials and broadcloths, all of which may be had in the most highly approved shades. James Lincoln, a tenant on the Frank Simison farm six miles north of town, in Jackson township, was painfully injured Afc>nday when he was stibbed in the abdomen with a pitchfork by Allen Warbritton. Lincoln and Warbritton were assisting in threshing on the Earl Bonwell farm. It is understood that the two men have not been on the best of terms and have had several wrangles. Monday while they were at work they engaged in nn argument. Other men who were working on the faun t rlor! to pacify them before they cxnio to blows hut were unable to do so. Warbritton, who was holding a pitchfork, made n lunge tit Lincoln and two of the lines penetrated his abdomen. Lincoln fell to the ground and Warbritton censed his attack. The injured man was taken to his home and Dr. G. K. Throckmorton of LaFayette and Dr. Mitchell of Romney were called. They found on examination that two of the tines had entered his abdomen nt had not penetrated his intestines. His injury, while painful, is not consi lered serious. After the deed Warbritton sent word to the sheriff and asked that a man be sent down after him as he was ready to give himself up. Deputy Sheriff George Wilson went to the Bonwell farm and took Warbrilton to LaFayette. Lincoln bled profusely from the wounds before the arrival of the doctors and it was thought he had been fatally injured. Warbritton, who made the attack, was employed by Lincoln.
The Senior class has eight members this time.

Black Locust Seed-
The black locust is excelled only by the hedge or Osage orange as a post limber. It grows rapidly and does well on rocky, worn out and eroded Helds. It is the most easily propagated of any of our trees; all that is necessary is to get the roots covered with earth and it will grow. It will grow better without cultivation than any other of our valuable trees, which recommends it for planting steep hillsides and rocky places that cannot be cultivated. For the preceding reasons it

would be the most desirable tree
to use in reclaiming the rocky, deserted and washed fields of Indiana, if it were not for the fact that it is often killed by the borer. It has been observed, however, that volunteer locust trees that have sprung up along the roadside from trees that were brought to this country by our grandfathers are often free from the attack of the borers, while trees nearby that have been secured from a nurserp are badly affected.

SOLACE is a pure specific in tablet form and has been proven beyond question to be the surest and quickest remedy for Uric Acid Troubles known to medical science, no matter how long standing. It reaches and removes the root of the trouble (Uric Acid) and puri flea the blood.
This is a significant fact and the State Board of Forestry has decided to undertake the experiment of growing a strain of black locust that will be more or less immune to the borer. They expect to plant seed from at least 100 young, thrifty trees that are free from the borer. From these seed trees will be grown and from these trees seed will again be selected from such trees as show a rapid and upright growth and are as free as possible from the borer. Again seed will be planted and the process of selective breeding continued until satisfactory results are obtained.
