KCSD raises funds with beards

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY Several of the 50 participating Kosciusko County Law Enforcement Officers returned to the Justice Building on Nov. 30 to end their monthlong "No Shave November" event. Sheriff's deputies, confinement officers and reserve deputies had been allowed to grow beards during the month of November by Sheriff Rocky Goshert. Syracuse Police Department, North Webster Police Department, Milford Police Department, Winona Lake Police Department, Pierceton Police Department, Silver Lake Police Department and Mentone Police Department also participated this year in the event with multiple officers to aid in the fund raising. Officers were asked to donate S2O to participate, which culminated in the officers raising over $7,000 to present to local schools

to aid with unpaid lunch balances at those schools. Donations were received from officers, businesses, and the general public to make this year such a success. Warsaw School Corporation, Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation, Wawasee School Corporation, and Whitko School Corporation were all represented during the event and were presented with the donations to aid in unpaid lunch balances at Kosciusko County schools. Local barbers Bob and Nelson Conley provided the officers with a free shave at the conclusion of the event. Cpl. Mike Fowler originated this event, and is already making plans to continue the event next year to continue aiding the communities. Sheriff Goshert expressed his pleasure with the outcome of the event.

Daily Activity Reports - On November 22, at approximately 12:05 a.n>., Darnell Mishler, 27, ran off the roadway on County Road 1, south of County Road 40. After further investigation of Ac vehide crash, Darnell Mishler was found to be intoxicated and found to have left die scene of a property damage crash on County Road 3, south of County Road 46. Darnell Mishler was incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail for operating while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a crash. - On November 22, at around 12:16 ajn., Jeffrey Nelson; 40, was stopped for a traffic infraction near County Road 7 and County Road 26. Jeffrey Nelson was found to be opending a vehicle while intoxicated with a BrAC of 0.125%. Jeffrey Nelson was incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail for operating while intoxicated - misdemeanor. - On November 22, at approximately 2.-09 ajn., Jonathon Nelson, 19, reported that a suspect damaged and defaced his truck with glue in the 28000 block of County Road 32. - On November 26, at around 924 pjn., Tfracy Bowen, 47, was stopped for a traffic infraction on State Road 19, north, of County Road 30, was found to be operating a vehide while intoxicated, and incarcerated at file Elkhart County Correctional Facility. - On November 27, at around 3:40 pjn., an 18 year old female lost control of her westbound 2007 Pontiac G 6 while: traveling at excessive speed on County Road 32 at County Road 11, causing her vehide to go into a spin an the roadway, leave the south side of the roadway, strike a tree, and overturn into a ditch.
