The deadline for submitting an application is September 28. Since 1996, more than 650 people have participated in the Master Gardener program in Elkhart County. The Purdue University Extension Service of Elkhart County sponsors the program. Master Gardeners is much more than a series of classes. The Ensemble was very strong, and though I hate to single any one out, I thought that Akira Watanable stood out as a dancer in back to back numbers, "I Gotta Be Bad," and "Bolera D'Amore." by Amy Lant-Wenger Editor NAPPANEE - Residents of the Nappanee area are taking steps to become extra vigilant as of late. As of press time, a number of reports were shared with members of the Advance-News staff, as well as being circulated around social media, about a string of robberies and home invasions within and around the community. In most of the incidents, it was noted that a number of personal items were taken. In those cases, the thieves were said to have left more costly items behind in favor of seizing smaller steals. Another report alleges that a resident was home at the time of forcible entry, during which a physical altercation ensued. Others have stated that items were taken from their vehicles, typically during the evening hours. Although no pattern has
