Auditions for * debut musical production NAPPANEE - Opportunities for people of all ages and experience levels are sought for the World Premiere of the musical production "The White Buggy," performed on the Round Bam stage on September 17,2018. Conceived by Richard Pletcher, the script by Frank Ramirez is the fictional tale of an Amish newspaper with an original score by Steve Engle and lyrics by Mr. Ramirez and Mr. Engle. Auditions will be held at Amish Acres Round Bam Theatre on Saturday, August 11 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Interested parties should prepare a musical theatre song and, if possible, a monologue. A complete show schedule, ticket availability, and reservations can be found by calling the Box Office at 800-800-4942, extension 2, or online at AmishAcres.com. Theatre tickets can be combined with Amish Acres family style Threshers Dinner. Tickets are now on sale for Barry Manilow's "Copacabana," "Happy Days," a new musical, "Lend Me a Tenor,” and "Annie." Amish Acres Historic Farm and Heritage Resort is now open seven days a week, offering tours of the historic house and farm, farm wagon rides, documentary films, demonstrations, and the famous Family Style Threshers Dinner. For over 20 years, in the European and American tradition of the old-fashioned traveling sideshow, Chris Camp keeps the art of cracking the whip alive with his act that has made him a three-time world champion, taking him to "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," NBC's "America's Got Talent," the "Guinness Book of World Records," and "Ripley's Believe It or Not." He is also featured in a recent film, "Breaking and Entering." Chris performs historical feats, including Dead Man's Chest, Cut Throat, the William Tell, and Blind Man's Bluff, and may throw in a bad joke or two. Children take center stage as the Stephen Gubi Children's Entertainment Tent will once again feature the internationally known Stevens' Puppets Marionettes and the timeless story "Sleeping Beauty." A festival favorite, Ken Emsberger will also be in the Children's Entertainment Tent with his magic show. To top off the festivities, Amish Acres will be offering its tours, rides, shops, famous Family Style Restaurant, and Beer Garden. The Round Bam Theatre will have a busy schedule during the four day festival, showing five performances of Barry Manilow's "Copacabana," along with one performance of the Broadway musical "Plain and Fancy." In addition, song selections from both shows performed by The Round Bam Theatre cast will be presented on the outdoor Americana on Parade Stage. Festival hours are 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, August 2-5; and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 9. Admission charge for the Amish Acres Arts and Crafts Festival is $7 per adult, $6 for seniors and students age 12 -17; and active military and children under 12 years old are free.
