From the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department - activity blotter and booking reports DAILY ACTIVITY REPORTS - On March 28, at around 4:17 p.m., Michelle N. Taylor, 30, was stopped for a traffic violation on CR 38 west of CR 19. She was found to have never received a license and was found to be in possession of marijuana. She was dted and released on a promise to appear in court. - On March 29, at around 6:40 a.m., Collin Truax, 22, reported a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of CR 38 at SR 119 in which the other vehicle left the scene. - On March 30, at around 8:22 p.m., an employee from Bashor Children's Home, 62226 CR 15, reported a juvenile had run away from the facility at around 8:15 p.m. - On March 31, at approximately 9:46 p.m., Tyler McKee, 26, was involved in a single vehicle property damage vehicle crash on U.S. 6 west of CR 17 and was found to be intoxicated while never having received a valid license. Tyler McKee received an on-view citation for never receiving a license - misdemeanor and was incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail for operating while intoxicated - misdemeanor.

Janice Sue Johnson December 15. 1951 - April 8. 2018 BREMEN Janice Sue Johnson, 66, of Bremen, passed away peacefully at 6:45 p.m., April 8, in Catherine Kasper

Life Center, Donaldson. Janice was bom on Dec. 15, 1951, the daughter of Everett and Vivian (Hammaker) Huff. On Oct. 25, 2003, she married Samuel Johnson. She is survived by her husband, Sam of Bremen; two sons, Eric (Kelly) Thornton of Bremen and Brad (Tara) Thornton of Bremen; step daughter, Jana (Barron) Grabarek; six grandchil-

dren, Caleb (Samantha Holmes) Smith of Nappanee, Ericca (Patrick Hughes) Thornton of Bremen, Curtis Thornton of Anchorage, Ala., Clayton Thornton of Bremen and Hudson (Dania Alvarado) Thornton of California and Zarah Grabarelg and two great grandchildren, Brantley Thornton and Paisley Schidler. She is also survived by her mother, Vivian (Gene Watkins) Huff of Plymouth, two sisters, Cheryl Huff of Savannah, GA and Sandy Muffley of Bremen; and one brother, Steve (Shelley) Huff of North Liberty. She is preceded in death by her father, Everett Huff, brother, Tom Huff and brother in law, Steve Muffley. Janice was a member of Bremen Missionary Church and a member of the Psi lota Xi of Nappanee. She was known by many family members as their own Martha Stewart. She was great in the kitchen and enjoyed knitting, scrapbooking, and arts and crafts, but her biggest joy was her grandchildren. The family will be gathering from 5-8 p.m., Friday, April 13, in Bremen Missionary Church, 2958 Elm Road, Bremen, where they will be receiving friends and family. A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, April 14, in the church with an additional time for gathering from 10 a.m. -12 p.m. prior to the service. Rev. Gary Hinkle will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all memorial donations be made to the Huntington's disease Society of America, Indiana Chapter, P.O. Box 2101, Indianapolis, Ind. 46206. Tree seedling sale GOSHEN - The Elkhart County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) and Michiana Master Gardners are again offering quality tree seedlings for those in the Elkhart County area who would like to plant small quantities of quality seedlings. Tree seedlings will be offered for sale on a first come, first served basis at the Sheep/Swine Arena on the 4-H Fairgrounds in Goshen on Saturday, April 14 from 9 a.m. -1 p.m. These seedlings range in size, and will be at least 10 to 24 inches high. The price for packs of five range from $lB to S2B. Thirteen different species are being offered, including conifers, deciduous trees, and flowering shnibs. A new option this year Pussy Willow, Spicebush, and Sweet Shrub. Also for sale will be a flowing variety pack, which will include two seedlings each of Allegheny Serviceberry, Kousa Dogwood, and Tulip Poplar. Local not-for-profit organizations and government agencies who can use tree seedlings for education or conservation purposes should contact Lora Callahan, Secretary/Treasurer of the Elkhart County SWCD at [email protected] for information on the grant program available if any trees are remaining after the sale. This program is designed for Scout Troops, Schools, Park Departments, and others who can further conservation and education in the county.
