From the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department - activity blotter & booking reports DARY ACTIVITY REPORTS - On March 2, at 6:52 p.m., Ronald Olson, 66, reported that his snowmobile and covered trailer were stolen from his driveway in the 59000 block of CRII between 1 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. on March 2. - On March 3, at approximately 9:57 p.m., Jeffrey Fisher, 32, was arrested in'the area of SR 15 and CR 142 after being stopped by police for a traffic violation. Jeffrey Fisher was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Jeffrey Fisher was also found to be operating with a driver's license of suspended - prior. Jeffrey Fisher was incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail for possession of methamphetamine - felony, possession of paraphernalia - misdemeanor, and driving while suspended - misdemeanor. - On March 4, at approximately 3:59 ajn., Robert L. Jones, 75, was found slumped over the wheel of his vehicle, asleep, after crashing his vehicle in the area of SR 19 and SR 119. Robert Jones failed field sobriety tests and submitted to a certified chemical test with a result of .098 BrAC. Robert Jones was incarcerated. - On March 7, at approximately 6:22 p.m., Michael Manges, 32, fled in a vehicle from police in the area of CR 23 and CR 146, after being stopped for a traffic violation. Michael Manges then fled on foot and was later caught. He was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, and paraphernalia. Michael Manges was also found to have a warrant out of Kosciusko County for failure to appear. Gabriel Rhodes, a passenger in the vehicle, fled on foot as well. Michael Manges was incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail for resisting in a vehicle, resisting on foot, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia. Gabriel Rhodes was incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail for resisting on foot. - On March 8, at approximately 10:22 p.m., Joshua Rogers, 29, was arrested in the area of CR 25 and CR 46 for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, after being stopped by police for a traffic violation. Joshua Rogers was also found to be in possession of marijuana. Joshua Rogers was incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail for operating a vehicle while intoxicated - misdemeanor and possession of marijuana - misdemeanor. On March 10, at around 6:30 p.m., in the area of CR 46 and Jefferson Street in New Paris, Jason Lange, 34, was found in possession of marijuana while being served an arrest warrant. Jason Lange was dted and released with a court date for possession of marijuana - misdemeanor. - On March 12, at 5:20 p.m., Anthony Slabaugh, 29, reported on March 12 between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., suspect(s) stole his Borden trash can from 21388 U.S. Highway 6, New Paris. - On March 12, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Lance Miller, 23, reported that at around 5:45 p.m., a juvenile at the Bashor Children's Home, 62226 CR 15, punched him in the nose, head, and left jaw area several times. - On March 13, at approximately 5:56 p.m., Alejandro Cruz-Davila, 33, was arrested in the area of CR 9 and CR 26 for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, after being stopped by police for traffic violations. Alejandro Cruz-Davila failed field sobriety tests and refused a certified chemical breath test at 6:48 p.m. Alejandro Cruz-Davila was incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. - On March 13, at approximately- 5:56 p.m., Jose DavilaCabellaro, 35, was arrested in the area of CR 9 and CR 26 for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, never receiving a license, and synthetic identity deception after being stopped by police for traffic violations. Jose Davila-Cabellaro filed field sobriety tests and refused a certified chemical breath test at 6:48 p.m. Jose Davila-Cabellaro was incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, never receiving a license, and synthetic identity deception. - On March 14, at approximately 4:45 a.m., James D. Martin, 23, reported that on March 14 at approximately 3:30 a.m., a suspect stole his white box trailer while it was parked in front of his residence located in the 64000 block of State Road 19, Wakarusa. - On March 14, around 8:23 a.m., Channry Chhaing, 29, was stopped in the 24000 block of CR 26 after reportedly hitting a mailbox in the 21000 block of SR 119 and failing to stop at the scene. Channry Chhaing failed standardized field sobriety testing, failed a drug recognition evaluation, and refused a chemical test. He was incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail for operating while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a crash, and driving with a suspended license. - On March 14, at approximately 6:13 p.m., Matthew Hively, 31, was involved in a vehicle crash on CR 38, west of CR 7, was found to be intoxicated with a prior conviction within five years and was incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail for operating while intoxicated - felony. Katie Marie Miller March 4,1943 - March 15,2018 NAPPANEE Katie Marie Miller, 75 years and 11 days, died 10:35 a.m. Thursday, March 15, at Elkhart General Hospital. She was bom March 4,1943 in LaGrange County to Amos A. and Sarah Edna (Schrock) Bontrager. On May 9,1963 she married Levi "Lee* Miller. Surviving is her husband, Levi, Nappanee; four children, Sara Jean (John) Hochstetler, Nappanee, Jerry Lee (Erma) Miller, Shipshewana, Joe Allen (Alma) Miller, Nappanee, John James (Julie) Miller, Middlebury; four siblings, Anna Sue Lambright, Shipshewana, Orva J. (Elsie) Bontrager, Shipshewana, Wilma (Casper) Hochstetler, Shipshewana, Elmer Dean (Louise) Bontrager, Sarasota, Fla., 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents, a great-grandchild, Olivia Miller, and a brother-in-law, Menno Lambright. Katie was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church, Nappanee. Visitation was Friday, March 16, and Saturday, March 17, at Joe and Alma Miller's residence, 70951 CR 9, Nappanee. A funeral service was held 9:30 a.m. Sunday, March 18, also at 70951 CR 9, Nappanee. The home ministry of the Old Order Amish Church officiated. Burial took place in West Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee. Pall bearers were Nathan Troyer, Lynn Troyer, Carlisle Hershberger, Sam Helmuth, Joe Hochstetler and Luke Schrock. Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, Wakarusa was in charge of arrangements. Homan, 77, died Monday, March 12, at Elkhart Hospice House, where he had been admitted Saturday after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
