Steven R. Allen November 6, 1956 - November 30, 2016 MILFORD Steven R. Allen, 60, of Milford passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at home. He was bom on November 6, 1956 to Samuel and Rolanda Allen in Melboum, United Kingdom. He married Tara M. Porter; she preceded him in death on October 25, 2006. Steven is survived by a daughter, Lindsey Allen; a son, Connor Allen; a step-son, McKenzie Avery; and a brother, Samuel Allen. Steven was an avid golfer and a devoted ESPN viewer. He was a very loving father and will be greatly missed by his family. A private family service will be held in Steven's honor. Croner will be the successor to retiring longtime Wa-Nee superintendent Joe Sabo, as of July 1, 2017. Dr. Croner is presently the superintendent of Blackford County School, located in Hartford City, Indiana. He has served in that position for the past three years. Dr. Croner was also a member of the state panel designed to review and recommend solutions and improvements to the ISTEP testing. "We began this process in August with the assistance of the University Placement Service, a no-cost team of four education department representatives from Purdue, Indiana, Ball State, and Indiana State. We had outstanding candidates apply for this opening," said board president Don Lehman. "We are excited to complete the official hiring and bring Dr. Croner on board. We are confident that he will continue Wa-Nee Community Schools' academic and extracurricular excellence into the future." Indiana law requires that Progress, from front January.
