YELLOW CREEK HOSTS CARNIVAL WAKARUSA Saturday, Oct. 29 marks the 13th annual Yellow Creek Community Carnival, which will be held at the Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, 64901 CR 11. There will be games, prizes, food, and other family themed activites from 4-7 p.m. STORY HOUR FOR WAKY TODDLERS WAKARUSA Children ages three through five can register for one of the next two editions of Story Hour at the Wakarusa Public Library,. There are two sessions, one on October 31 and another on November 1, both at 10:15 a.m. The featured story is "Oh, No!" by Candace Fleming. To register, call the WPL at 574-862-2465. HARVEST PARTY HEADS DOWNTOWN NAPPANEE Nappanee's yearly Harvest Party and Costume Contest is set to take place at the Downtown Pavilion on Monday, Oct. 31. There will be fun booths from 6:30 to 8 p.m., and a costume contest getting underway at 7:15 p.m. Judging will end at 7:45 p.m., followed by the announcement of winners at 8 p.m. Tne various age categories are three and under, four to seven, eight to 12, and 13 to 18. This event is being sponsored by the City of Nappanee. WPL OFFERS SURVEY WAKARUSA During the month of October, the Wakarusa Public Library is asking patrons to participate in a short survey. The survey will be available to pick up at various locations around town, such as Grandma's Pantry and

WA-NEE TRICK-OR-TREAT TIMES The date and times for trick-or-treating in both Nappanee and Wakarusa is Monday, Oct. 31 from 5-7 p.m. FRIENDS PLAN NEXT MEETING WAKARUSA The Wakarusa Friends of the Library will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m. This is a group of volunteers that advocate and assist the Wakarusa Public Library. Anyone interested in the Library may attend. CRITTER SLUMBER PARTY WAKARUSA Sleepover! IPs the one night of the year when the Wakarusa Public Library allows entry to critters of all shapes and sizes, as long as they're stuffed and housebroken. On Tuesday, Nov. 1, the WPL is inviting all children to bring their most loved stuffed animals to the sleepover, with drop-off between 5-7:30 p.m. Children will enjoy the short movies "Too Many Toys" and "I Lost My Bear" before tucking their critters in and saying goodnight. Children will return home while their friends stay behind for some super sleepover fun. Children may pick up their stuffed animals the next day between 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Each child will receive a memory booklet filled with amazing photos of their critter participating in a variety of overnight activities. Only one stuffed animal per child, please.

ADVENTURES IN THE SEA WAKARUSA Beginning Story Hour for ages 18-36 months will meet with their new fall friends on Nov. 2 at 10:15 a.m. in the Wakarusa Public Library. Registered children will explore bubbles, shapes, and colors, and this week, will hear "Tne Deep Blue Sea" by Audrey Wood. FCDC HOSTING BREAKFAST NAPPANEE Everyone is welcome to share in the yearend complimentary-breakfast, shared by Family Christian Development Center. The meal is being held at Dal-Mar Banquet Hall, 159 E. Lincoln Street, on Thursday, Nov. 3, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Please submit an RSVP by Oct. 28 by calling 574-773-2149. An opportunity to donate to the mission of FCDC will be given on that day. VETS HONORED IN WAKY WAKARUSA Carrying on with a tradition that began nearly two decades ago, North Wood Middle School will once again be hosting a special program on Veteran's Day, Nov. 11, in which local vets will be honored. The ceremony begins at 8 a.m. in the old gymnasium, with a 7:50 a.m. arrival time recommended so that guests can be properly seated. The Indiana Army National Guard members of Elkhart County will be serving as Color Guard for the day. To register as a veteran for participation in this program, call the school at 574-862-2710.
