NIGHT BOWUNG WAKARUSA - Family programming is a great opportunity to get the entire family out of the house and having fun together. Join the Wakarusa Public Library on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 6:30 p.m. for a night of glow in the dark bowling. All ages are welcome to attend. VETERAN-OWNED FARM HOSTING COOKOUT NAPPANEE - The Hartzell farmstead, located at 8699 N. 900 W., will be the site of the first Hartzell farm hog roast from 3-7 p.m. Oct. 22. Guests will partake of family catering on site, with a hog prepared by master roaster Jeremy Hartzell and head caterer Theresa Hartzell. There will be music, and a 50/50 drawing for just sl, with prizes including such items as a whole roasted hog weighing approximately 150 pounds, a roasted half/hog, jnd a bottle of Jeremy's own special recipe barbeque sauce. 'BOS MOVIE OCT. 22 NAPPANEE-October's edition of the "Free Movie in the Park" series takes place on Saturday, Oct. 22 with the classic family film from 1982, "E.T." The movie begins in West Park Pavilion at 8:30 p.m., and guests are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets. Free popcorn will be available while supplies last, or you can bring your own snacks. FALL ACTIVITIES FOR MOMS AND SONS NAPPANEE The Farmhouse at 52 is sponsoring a Mother/Son nayride on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 5-7 p.m. Enjoy a hayride, games, refreshments, and a chance to make memories with your child. There will also be photo sessions available with Cat Alkire Photography, which will be priced at S4O per session. The tickets for the hayride are $25 per couple, with an additional $5 per son. Hepton Road barn fire Photo by Dale Tobias Firefighters from Nappanee,Wakarusa, Etna Green, and Bremen were all summoned to this farmstead at 8110 Hepton Road, south of Nappanee,at approximately 3:45 p.m.on Saturday, Oct. 15. The barn was deemed a total loss, and smoke was visible blowing across S.R. 19 as firefighters worked to extinguish the flames. There were no injuries, and a cause for the blaze was not available at press time.
NPL offers support to caregivers, fun for teens
By Merrie Chapman Staff Writer NAPPANEE The Nappanee Public Library has designed a caregivers support group for those with family experiencing Alzheimer or dementia— as well as fun events for both teens and pre-teens. All are scheduled to take place the first week in November at the library, 157 N. Main St., Nappanee. ALZHEIMER, DEMENTIA SUPPORT GROUP An Alzheimer and Dementia Caregivers Support Group is scheduled, 7-8 p.m., Nov. 1. This group is open to all who care for or know someone who cares for—those with Alzheimers Disease or Dementia. The group meets the first Tuesday of every other month during the calendar year. Information on these diseases, and help in dealing with those suffering from each, is available at each support group meeting. Occasionally present-

The highlight for Nov. 1 meeting is a special project to create traditional sugar skulls. The group will meet 4-5 p.m. that day, inside The Cube, and all materials will be provided. Snacks will also be made available. All teens are welcome to attend and participate but also asked to register by Oct. 25 to ensure that there are enough materials and snacks for everyone. This group will next meet, 4pm-spm, Nov. 3, at The Cube, inside NPL. Participants will be creating mixed media art. All materials and snacks will be provided to those who register by Oct. 27.
