North Wood Bth wins West Noble Invite The North Wood eighth grade volleyball A team won four games to capture the West Noble Invitational Sept. 24. In game one the girls beat Bethany Christian in two sets 25-16, 25-16. Game two was a victory against West Noble, also in two sets with scores 25-11, 25-11. In the championship pool, game one against Lakeland was another two-set victory, 25-15,25-12. Then in the final game of the day, yet another two-set victory against Wawasee, 25-22, 25-17, to earn the trophy. Kira Gongwer had five aces as well and led in attacks with five kills. NORTHWOOD WINS IN 2 North Wood's seventh grade A volleyball team defeated Goshen in two games, 25-6, 25-16. Annika Bennett led the Lady Panthers in serving with 18, eight of them aces. Kira Gongwer served up five aces. Jadyn Gessinger had three. Emma Martz worked the net and had five kills. Gongwer and Alana Lehman had three kills each, and Gongwer also finished with nine assists and four digs.
