Grand opening of wrestling academy Sept. 7

By Lola Whitmer Staff Writer NAPPANEE The grand opening celebration of a wrestling training facility in Nappanee will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 69954 C.R. 11. Owner and manager of All American Wrestling Academy, Jason Demien founded the facility to train students in the sport of wrestling. 'We are here to help kids get to the next level," said Demien. "Our goal is to help kids become better at wrestling. We teach sportsmanship, character, integrity, and hard work. We teach them to be champions in the sport but also in life." The facility, All American Wrestling Academy, teaches kids the fundamentals of wrestling and prepares them for high school level wrestling. Staffed with three coaches who are versed in the sport, the academy uses professionals in the field to teach the kids the best techniques available. "We want to be able to help kids and provide them with the opportunity to practice," said Demien. "The training facility helps kids to reach their highest goal in the sport of wrestling." Practices at the academy are held every Wednesday and Thursday evening in two separate groups customized to the age of the participants. Grades second through seventh practice from 5-6:15 p.m. and older kids, in grades eighth through 12th, practice from 6:15-7:45 p.m. During the month of September through the end of October, the training facility offers preseason training for high school wrestlers. Champion Preseason Training is available to students in high school before the start of the season to help prepare them for the wrestling season. "We have three really good coaches that instruct at the facility," said Demien. "One is a current head coach and the other two are
