Garrett Griffin placed second at 152 pounds, meanwhile, with his pinfall loss to Prairie Heights' Doug Levitz in the championship bout. Andrew Miller also suffered a pinfall loss in the 220pound consols opposite Fremont's Zachary Merrick. climb out of the hole we just weren't able to. By the time we decided we were going to climb out of the hole, it was already out of control." The Panthers put everything they had into climbing out of that hole, and the charge was led by junior Taitlyn Trenshaw. She hit a 3 to open the fourth quarter and then came up with a steal on the ensuing possession by Fairfield and hit another bucket. The effort got North Wood believing it still had a chance in this. North Wood closed the gap all the way to 53-44 with 2:30 left in the game with Trenshaw scoring 11 of the 15 points scored during that stretch. Then with North Wood down 55-48 and 1:44 left, Fairfield missed both free throws, giving the Panthers a chance to close the gap to a two-possession game. But North Wood turned it over and put Fairfield at the line, where sophomore Erica Zook iced the game for the Falcons hitting two big free throws. The Lady Panthers were out of gas after their valiant fourth quarter effort and came up short, 62-48. "What a great effort at the end. It was 50-24. It's not easy," said Yoder. "It wasn't easy with the kids in the huddle. It wasn't easy at halftime. Those kids did what they did all year. They went out and fought. They fought to the end."
