tried numerous times and a fair amount of votes had been cast in what became a de facto chili face-off. Nappanee resident Blake Taylor was present at the library during the event, and weighed in with his choice for best chili recipe. "I enjoyed them both very much," Taylor said after testing small cups of each chili. "My choice is chili number one. It had both sweetness and a spice to it, and I like that." Laughing, Taylor admitted that he might not be the best to choose, however, as he is a fan of chili in general.

"I just like chili all around," Taylor said. According to Mullet, the purpose of the chili cookoff is the same as many of the events Second Saturdays puts on. "We want to have events that the Nappanee public can participate in and enjoy," Mullet said. At the time of the cook-off, the traveling trophy hung on a pillar at the Nappanee Bakery at Coppes Commons. The Nappanee Bakery was the overall winner in 2015, with Martin's Supermarket preceding them as the winners of 2014.

gently to make it the success it is today. According to Mullet, it was her time running Liz's Furniture Store that prompted Miller and the others to ask her to head Second Saturdays. During her time at her store. Mullet would hold many dinners and tea parties, organizing the events from top to bottom. Mullet said that, at some of her events at Liz's Furniture Store, she would serve up to 400 people in a matter of hours, a skill that translated well to organizing and hosting events for Second Saturdays. "They knew that I planned a lot of things, and that's

really why they asked me. They needed someone who could that done," Mullet said. As for Second Saturdays, Mullet sees no end in sight and wants only what is best for her community. "As long as they want me to help with Second Saturdays, I will," Mullet said. "I can't thank this community enough for all of the work that gets done. It's a passion of mine to see Nappanee represented from east to west, because it's about everybody. The goal is to unite our community because they are the people we do it for."
