with The Biggest Loser Challenge, team members have the opportunity to stay focused with the aid of tools like leaderboards, a website and live blogs that track participants progress all of which work in combination to motivate the community and keep them dialed in on their goals. The challenge also features a business-against-business opportunity in which local businesses can form teams to go head-to-head in their weight loss goals. The cost of entry into the program for a four person team is SIOO per team, equaling out to $25 per team member, a price that Kitson sees as worth every penny for a healthier lifestyle.

"Twenty-five dollars per person —that's affordable," said Kitson, who is participating in the event himself. "This is something we are seeing in Nappanee; people are exercising and trying to get healthier. I'll be involved, too, and I'll have the community out there keeping me honest." The program officially launches on Feb. 1, with the deadline for team sign-ups being Jan. 31. Grand prize awards will be given out on March 31 to teams with the highest losses. The Nappanee Chamber of Commerce plans to promote the event more heavily leading up to the event, and" more information can be found on the Chamber's Facebook page or at www.Biggestlosercommunity.com
