A diverse group of visitors came to participate in the first annual David's Run for Autism. Some registered and ran either the 5k or 3k races. Others jogged casually through the courses. Despite the differences in paces, smiles and conversation throughout the crowd seemed to indicate a good time was being had by all. (Photo by Merrle Chapman)

Hudson Hell, age 4, enjoyed getting his face painted during the May 2 David's Run for Autism. During the event many vendors were onhand to offer links for support and information concerning autism.
Brown, from front
work at Gulf Stream Coach. Since then she has also worked as an executive assistant, employed at Goshen General Hospital and IU Health Center; and served as vice-president of Chase Bank, Nappanee. Throughout these experiences Brown remained active in the community, and in touch with her growing children. She was a member of the PTO at South Elementary School, volunteered with local Little League programming, and says she and her husband have enjoyed living in Nappanee and raising their children here. "Nappanee is the place we choose to call home," said Brown.

MOVING FORWARD With the Republican Primary Election behind her, Katny Brown now prepares for the fall election. Votes cast there in her favor will result in her official election to her treasured position. One she claims to already enjoy, and one which Brown says she looks forward to continuing alongside the city's workers and leaders. Which of those leaders were elected to serve with her had not yet been announced at the time of the Advance News print deadline this week. Be watching for continued election coverage in future issues of the Advance News.
