ANNIVERSARIES Mishler 60th Richard and Donna (Teeter) Mishler will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a special family dinner the weekend of July 5. The Mishlers were married June 27, 1954 at Nappanee Church of the Brethren. They have two children, Denise (Kerry) Scott of St. Cloud, Fla. and Dennis Mishler of Nappanee. They also have five grandchildren: Jason (Heather) Mishler of Nappanee; David Mishler of El Cajon, Calif.; Kyle (Morgan) Scott of Nashville, Term.; Kristin (Jeremy) Heemskerk of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Kenton Scott of St. Cloud, Fla.; and three great-grandchildren. Richard retired from the Nappanee Post Office and Donna from the Nappanee Family Medical Clinic. They attend the Nappanee Missionary Church.

Smith 50th Dick and Diana Smith will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house, from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2014, at the Nappanee United Methodist Church, 301 E. Market St., Nappanee. The Smiths were married July 11, 1964 at College Park United Brethren Church, Huntington by Edmund Burkey. Their children are Lenina Close of Aurora, Colo., Trenton (Signe) Smith of Houston, Texas, and Jennifer Taggard of Calif. They also have six grandchildren: Tristan and Caleb Close of Aurora, Colo.; Harper Smith of Houston, Texas; and McLean, Gabriel and Molly Taggard of Auburn, Calif. , Dick taught history in Bremen from 1967-70. Then he moved to Nappanee and taught there for 32 years, retiring from the WaNee school system in 2002. He taught middle school in Wakarusa for 32 years. He teaches an adult Sunday school class at the Nappanee United Methodist Church. Diana retired from being a travel agent at Menno Travel in 2005. For the past 10 years, she has been the organist for the Nappanee United Methodist Church. Both Dick and Diana have volunteered at the Nappanee Public Library, The Nappanee Centre, and the Wakarusa Historical Museum.
