deep into Plymouth territory with a 41-yard completion from Kirkwood to Trent Sellers being the key play. The Plymouth defense stiffened again, however, forcing another field goal attempt from almost the exact same spot on the field which unfortunately for the hosts was again no good. After twice escaping with no points scored, the Plymouth offense decided to do their part, driving 80 yards in twelve plays with Elliott Eads taking it the final five yards to tie the game at 14 all with 5:23 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Rockie defense then forced a quick punt by North Wood, giving the ball back to the visitors at the Plymouth 37-yard line with 3:47 remaining in the contest. Two runs netted just four yards and an illegal procedure penalty on the Rockies made it third and 11, but Barron was not dismayed, finding Dakota Brooke on a short pass completion and then watching Brooke race 64 yards for the go-ahead touchdown. North Wood promptly turned the ball over on downs at their own 37 on four straight incomplete passes, but the Black Crunch defense got the ball back with 50 seconds remaining thanks to big stops by Hilty and Travis Bear and the judicious use of all three of their timeouts. Unfortunately, a Panther rally was not to be as Plymouth's Kyle Lacefield picked off a Kirkwood pass at midfield, allowing the Rockies to run out the clock seal the comeback victory. North Wood rushed for 145 yards, led by 70 from Cleveland and 58 from Kirkwood. Through the air, Kirkwood was just 8 of 21 for 141 yards, with Bear and Miranda hauling in three passes each to lead the receiving corps. The Black Crunch defense was paced by seven tackles apiece from Sauceda and Hilty, six stops by Zach Hazel, and five tackles each from Bear, White, and Scott Kern. The Rockies finished with 129 yards on the ground, most of it by Hartman (60 yards) and Barron (44 yards). Barron completed 6 of 11 passes for 135 yards and a TD. The Plymouth defense was led by Caleb Weirs with eight tackles and Kevin Escobar with six stops. North Wood (4-5, 2-5 NLC) goes on the road for the opening round of the Gass
