Helen Maxine Biller Oct. 10, 2013 MILFORD Helen Maxine Biller, 88, formerly of Milford, died at 9:50 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 at the Elkhart Rehabilitation Center. Surviving are two sons, Kent (Diane) Biller of Osceola and Blane Biller of Warsaw, five grandchildren, eight greatgrandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation was Sunday from 2-4, 6-8 p.m. at ThompsonLengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee and one hour prior to services which were held Monday, Oct. 14, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Mt. Phone scam reported in neighboring county WARSAW The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department detectives are warning citizens of yet another local telephone scam that appears to be occurring to residents in the southeast portion of Kosciusko County. Officers have recently received various reported incidents of local citizens in Sidney who have been contacted by individuals via telephone that are attempting to elicit personal information. The caller presumably to retrieve personal information as related to their computer, such as username or passwords by using various verbal maneuvers and tactics. In most of i the cases, the suspects tend to prey upon older citizens by confusing and obscuring the victim. KCSD urges citizens to be very protective of their personal information. If contacted, officers are advising the public to instruct the caller that they are not interested and simply hang-up.

SR 19 closed for drainage project Project limited to Elkhart area through November
ELKHART —Part of SR 19 in Elkhart currently closed for a scheduled 40-day closure as part of the SR 19 road construction project. The closure, which is required for the contractor to reconstruct the approaches to SR 19 and add improved drainage features, is expected to end in late November, weather permitting. The eastern leg of Franklin Street, whim has been closed to construct the new alignment of this intersection, is expected to today as well.
