through which the mold was able to thrive in the first place. As for the second item of the committee's consensus, Ziegler said, "After several months of meeting and input and answering questions, we feel it would be best to go ahead and build a new station. At this point, we're not talking about money, we're not talking about cost, we're not talking about location," he emphasized. "But the current facility is not suitable for our police force. We will be looking into the next steps to take from this point." Several members of the Wakarusa Police Department, including Town Marshal Bob Cunningham listened to Ziegler's comments, while Ziegler told the audience that he is eager to keep all of the current committee members vital and active in the search for a potential site, and that there will almost certainly be public forums in the future to allow the public to voice their opinions.

Ziegler also addressed the rumors about possibly relocating the police force to one of several vacant locales around the community, such as the former Dollar General storefront on South Elkhart Street or one of the empty Utilimaster buildings. To that strategy, Ziegler noted that the committee did investigate those
options, but found the use of older buildings to be "not acceptable" or financially feasible in terms of investing money in necessary repairs. The council seemed generally favorable toward the possibility of continuing with talks of a new station, with no one expressing strong feelings about the idea one way or another. It is highly anticipated that future discussion on the subject will be
