It was the 22nd sectional championship for the Black Swish under Hall-of-Fame coach Steve Neff and propelled Class 3A #3-ranked North Wood into a showdown with Class 3A #l-ranked Norwell in next weekend’s Bellmont regional. The Panthers advanced to the final with a hard-fought 51-43 victory over Fairfield, easily the best game of the tournament.

Ancilla College believes in you Ancilla College is offering a free college course to first-time students as part of the "We Believe in You" program. Designed for adult learners, 21 years and older, who have never attended college, We Believe in You allows a student to

take a class with up to three credit hours at no cost (free tuition and fees). In additioa all students in the program will have an academic advisor to assist them with every aspect of attending college for the first time, including help with the registration process, filing a financial aid application, choosing education opportunities and more. We Believe in You was originally created in 1988

by the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ, the religious order that sponsors Ancilla College. Since then more than 140 people have taken part in the program to explore college education options and in many cases, launch a successful degree program. Many of the new students have gone on to take more classes, taking advantage of the opportunity to restart their education. Several working adults began with the free course and continued as parttime students, eventually earning degrees after their own children had finished a college degree. Adult students can use the 'We Believe in You" grant on top of other financial aid from federal and state programs to launch a college degree. We Believe in You could serve as the Mission Statement of Ancilla. Ancilla operates with a yearly infusion of optimism as we greet our students and guide them through the college process. Many of our students are first-generation college students and some parents cannot help their children through the process of preparing for college such as completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Taking a college course in writing, communication, or computer technology can jump-start a college degree at any age. Faced with a tough jobs outlook today this program is unique in offering more students across Northern Indiana to take that first step in college and receive up to three credits of coursework for free. As a two-year co-educational, liberal arts college, Ancilla focuses on the growth and development of each individual student. With a cadre of excellent faculty accessible to students, the College provides seventeen academic programs and a strong general education curriculum. From free tutoring and advising to career development to classroom technologies, Ancilla students are surrounded by teaching and learning professionals who focus on students as the top priority. Understanding the varying needs of individual students, Ancilla provides day, evening, online and Saturday classes for both traditional and adult students. Ancilla classes begin Jan. 14, 2013 at the school's campus near Plymouth. For more information on 'We Believe in You', please contact the Ancilla College Admissions Office at 574-936-8898 or go online to www.ancilla.edu.
