Police looking for suspect ELKHART Elkhart police are looking for any information on the man who robbed Mutual Bank Sept. 24 especially his whereabouts. At approximately 2:50 p.m. officers from the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department responded to a bank robbery at Mutual Bank, 25990 C.R. 6 in Elkhart. The suspect is described as a white male in his early to mid 40s, with brown hair, a receding hairline, blue eyes, and a goatee. He was wearing blue jeans and a gray hooded sweatshirt at the time of the robbery. The suspect has an unknown tattoo on his neck. During the robbery he offered a note and displayed a handgun. At this time it is unknown how much currency was taken. He was last seen headed south on Johnson Street. TRICK-OR-TREAT SET NAPPANEE The City of Nappanee will hold trick-or-treat Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. The Nappanee Police Department Halloween party will be held at 7 p.m. at Nappanee Elementary School. BIBLE STUDY AT LIVING GOSPEL NAPPANEE A Bible study for women will be held Wednesdays at 9 a m. at Living Gospel Church on the corner of west Walnut and north Locke streets in Nappanee. Teaching, discussion groups and fellowship are included in the study from the Book of Genesis entitled, "Lessons for the Family Classes will be provided for children ages 2 to 5 and a nursery will be available for infants. Ryan Paul Freed Sept. 28, 2012 NAPPANEE Ryan Paul Freed, 2 months, of Nappanee, died at 11 aun., Friday, Sept. 28, 2012 at South Bend Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his parents, Donald and Ashley Antonides Freed; a sister, Hailey Lynn Freed; brothers, James Albert George, Caleb Ray Freed; grandmother, Teresa Tomblin, Nappanee; grandfather, Donald Freed Sr., Nappanee; stepgrandparents, Jeffrey and Susan Robinson, Plymouth; great-grandparents, Demp and Lil Ritchie, Rome City; and Gene and Joan Guild, Hawaii. NAPPANEE Arlene (Shively) Holderman, 100, of Nappanee, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012 at 3:15 p.m. in Bremen Health Care Center. She was a lifelong resident of the Bourbon and Nappanee area and graduated from Nappanee High School in the class of 1930. She was a homemaker and worked as a cabinet maker at Elcar Coach (formerly Boise
Cascade and Bendix) retiring in 1976. Arlene was a faithful member of Camp Creek Church of the Brethren and a member of the Ladies Aid of her church as well as past president of the Homemakers Club. She was an avid sports fan, especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports, playing cards and crocheting. She spent several winters in Sebring, Fla. Arlene was bom the daughter of Charles and Carrie Brown Wysong April 17,1912 at Nappanee. Feb. 7, 1936 she married Wayne Shively who passed away, Feb. 6, 1983. She then married Charles Holderman Oct. 9, 1988 who survives. Arlene also was blessed with two sons: Fred and wife Wanda Shively and Steve and wife Pat Shively all of Etna Green; three stepdaughters: Marietta and husband Ed Pippinger of Nappanee, Carol Sue and husband Dennis Deeter of Valparaiso, Linda and husband Jim Brown of Nappanee. She was further blessed with seven grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren, 16 greatgrandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren and several stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters; Carol Slabaugh, Roberta Reprogle and two brothers: Jay Wysong and Qeo Wysong. . The family received friends Friday, Sept 28 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Camp Creek Church of the Brethren, 7486 N S.R. 19, Etna Green. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Camp Creek Church of the Brethren with Pastor Mark Riege officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Bourbon.
