Story times return for fall Children ages nine months through six years old are invited to meet at the Nappanee Public Library, beginning in September for the return of Storytime and Lullababie. Preschoolers age 3 to 5 will meet on Wednesdays, Sept. 5,12 and 19, from 10 to 10:45 a m. or 1 to 1:45 p.m. for fun with Clifford, the Big Red Dog. Toddlers, ages 2 and 3 will meet Thursday mornings from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Sept. 6, 13, and 20, to explore with Elmer the Elephant. Children will take part in games, songs, crafts, and other activities in both sessions. The Lullababies lapsit program also returns Tuesdays, Sept. 4,11, and 18, from 10 to 10:30 a.m. This high-energy group for ages 9 through 24 months gives babies and caregivers the chance to interact with each other through songs, finger plays, rhymes, and more. Designed to match the shorter attention spans of the little ones, Lullababies is lively and entertaining; not a 'sit still and listen' kind of program. Call the Nappanee Public Library at 5/4-773-7919 or visit www.nappaneelibrary. org online to register or learn more. Crafters meet Sept. 6 Crafters looking for ways to make their craftiness count by creating with others and using their talent to help those in need should meet the Nappanee Public Library's Crafting Hope group. The club will meet Sunday, Sept. 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. to discuss "Krakatoa: The Day the World Exploded: August 27, 1883," by Simon Winchester. Simon Winchester, New York Times bestselling author of "The Professor and the Madman," examines the legendary annihilation in 1883 of the vol-cano-island of Krakatoa, which was followed by an immense tsunami that killed nearly forty thousand people. Most significant of all in view of today's new political climate tne eruption helped to trigger in Java a wave of murderous antiWestern militancy among fundamentalist Muslims, one of the first outbreaks of lslamic-inspired killings anywhere. Krakatoa gives us an entirely new perspective on this fascinating and iconic event. For more information or to reserve a copy of the book, call 574-773-7919, or visit www.nappaneelibrary. org online. The Cover to Cover Book Club meets at the library on the second Sunday of each month. Children's photo exhibit, workshops coming up What does the world look like when you're three feet tall?
