Evelyn M. Giska Jane. 25, 1925 - June 24, 2012 ELKHART Evelyn (Evie) M. Giska, passed away peace-

fully June 24, 2012 at the Greenleaf Health Center in Elkhart due to complications from Alzheimer's disease. She was bom Jan. 25, 1925 in Chicago, 111. to the late Andrew and Rose (Skotnicki) Ciszon. She married Edwin J. Giska Sept. 25, 1946 in Chicago, 111. Her loving husband of 37 years preceded her in death in 1983. She was also preceded in death by

her long-time companion, Edward Gundeck, of Nappanee, in 2003. Survivors are sons Ron (Barb) Giska, Elkhart, and Wayne Giska, Lawrenceburg; daughter Pat (Tom) Jones, Murrieta, Calif.; and son Scott (Jeri) Giska of Lawrenceburg. Evelyn is also survived by Jeanie Giska of Louisville, Ky. and her 10 grandchildren, Nikki (Brian) Ramer, Neal Giska, Keith (Lisa) Baker, Tony (Lydia) Giska, Brad (Kate) Giska, Dan Jones, Chris (Amanda) Jones, Shannon (Bob) Gassman, Nate Giska, and Ben Giska. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren, Ethan, Ella and Lucas Ramer, Enzo Giska and Landon and Lydia Baker. Evie was an Administrative Assistant to her husband Ed at Nappanee Chrysler Plymouth and then served thousands of very happy dining guests for more than 25 years at Amish Acres. Her Catholic faith and loving family were always her top priorities and she was a lifelong member of St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Nappanee and St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Bremen. She leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, lifelong learning, special holidays and amazing meals. She loved reading, gardening, caring for her home, managing her investments, traveling and she rarely missed Sunday Mass and loved praying her rosary. She was blessed with a long, fruitful life but will be so missed by those who adored her kindness, energy, wit, and constant nurturing acts of love. Funeral prayers were held Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 9 a.m. CDT at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State St. (Route 38), Geneva, 111. proceeding to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 400 Cedar Street St. Charles for the Mass of Resurrection at 11 a.m. with Msgr. Rev. Joseph Linster celebrating. Burial followed at St. Adalbert's Cemetery, 6800 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago at 2 p.m. Visitation was held Friday, June 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. by Deacon Fred Simms and eulogy by her son, Scott. WESTON 50TH Larry and Donna Weston of Bremen will celebrate their

50th wedding anniversary with a family vacation to Myrtle Beach, S.C. The couple was married July 1, 1962 at St John's United Church of Christ, Woodland. Their children are Stacey (Richard) Strehler of Bremen, Ann (Troy) Holmes of Bremen, and Matthew (Christi) of Kouts. They also have five grandchildren: Samantha, Ty, Nathan, Andrea, and Jacob. Larry works in real estate appraising and enjoys golfing. Donna is retired from the Bremen Public Library and enjoys reading. They are active members of Bremen United Methodist Church.

Myers June 30, 2012 NAPPANEE Melvin L. "Mel" Myers, 71, of Nappanee, died at 10:35 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2012 at his residence after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, Mike (Jody) Myers, Wolcottville, Randy (Nora) Menzie and Rick (Karon) Menzie, both of Nappanee, Rob (Chris) Menzie, Warsaw; daughters, Kathy (Roger) Brown, Nappanee, Laurie (Steve) Hoffer, Wakarusa, Karla (Bob) Stouder, Nappanee, Rita (Larry) Seitz, Bremen; 18 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren; and brothers, Charles William "Bill" Myers, Syracuse, and Ralph Earnest "Shorty" (Muffit) Myers, Campbells Creek, W.V.
