Teens named ‘Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Year’
GOSHEN Three area teens were named Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Year and represent die Boys k Girls Chibs of Middlebury, Nappanee and Goshen. The Youth of the Year program recognizes outstanding contributions to a Boys & Girls Chibs member's family, school, community and Cub as well as personal challenges and obstacles overcome by a Youth of the Year competitor. Nicole Morrison, 16, a freshman at North Wood High School, was named Youth of die Year for the Boys & Girls Qub of Nappanee; Natasha Grove, 18, a senior at Northridge High School, was named Youth of the Year for the

Middlebury Qub; and Kayla Buckmaster, 17, a senior at Goshen High School, was named Youth of the Year for the Boys k Girls Qub of Goshen. Morrison, die daughter of Debbie and Mark Morrison, has been a member of the Nappanee Qub for four years. She is an active Qub member and serves as the vice president of the Keystone Qub. She has participated in intramural sports, including volleyball and basketball. She may also be found spending countless hours volunteering her time to help in numerous areas of the Qub. She plans to attend college and work at Riley Hospital for Children. Grove has been an active

She has played on many Qub varsity sports teams including girls volleyball, co-ed soccer and co-ed softball. She plans to attend lUSB in the fall and major in social work. group on the annual mission trips to Mississippi to help with hurricane restoration for several years. She is also a 10-year member of the Boys k Girls Qub 4-H program. Buckmaster has participated on the varsity sports teams where she has been captain of both the girls basketball team and the co-ed softball team. She will be attending International Business College in the fall and majoring in medical assisting. She will then further her education to pursue a career in sports medicine. Boys & Girls Qubs are youth development agencies that provide after-school youth development programs for children between the ages of 6-18.
